Introducing Tickle Me Pink

For the first time ever, I’ve found myself on the other side of the fence. That’s right, a marketing/pr firm has sent me a pitch. Admittedly, its kind of a strange feeling. The pitch was that “if you like these bands, you’ll like this band” which I have no qualms with, and I’ve been on the other side of the fence almost daily for about two years, so I understand exactly where they are coming from.

Anyways, he was writing me to introduce me to Fort Collin’s Tickle Me Pink. I was surprised to see a Colorado band on there as I spent four years in Boulder, worked at a venue in Denver, and then later managed a band from there. In all that time, I’d never heard of Tickle Me Pink.

Essentially, these guys have a Taking Back Sunday type vibe, but a little bit cleaner and slicker (yeah, I know). Not bad at all, but nothing spectacular either. The whole aremo rock genre has gotten kind of stale (started out kind of stale maybe?) but these guys seem pretty genuine in their delivery…see their influences on MySpace, not too many bands list At the Drive In AND Third Eye Blind in one list. At least they know their roots.

Anyways, without further hesitation, check out this mp3 for “The Time is Wrong”

Because after all, its what you think that counts, not what I think.
