The Bronx have been promising for over a year now that their new output would be a double-album. One half classic Bronx rock and roll and the other half a Mariachi record. Being that they’re from LA, the Mariachi thing makes a little bit of sense, and I was super excited to hear what they had to offer.
The band just released a live video of Mariachi El Bronx (presumably from Warped Tour?) and its rather mediocre. I think it would be fun live, but I can’t imagine listening to a whole CD of it. The video is below, but I’d suggest listening to Knifeman instead.

Really? I actually like this song better than Knifeman. Can’t wait for the double LP.

I agree with the guys above.Knifeman is good, but the whole mariachi thing is a bit more of a risk, and a lot more exciting.More bands should be taking notes from the bronx, for it’s projects like this that might save this dying music scene.

I saw “Mariachi El Bronx” not long ago and it was great!! So much fun, and Matt’s voice is at its best! This is not a good video but I’m letting you the songs are great. After the Mariachi set they came back out in regular clothes and it was mass chaos. (I got a broken nose from the mosh….excellent!)
